This publication is the most comprehensive retrospective to date of Christian Jankowski’s work from 1992–2013, along with a work that was prepared specifically for the exhibition at the Centre for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle in Warsaw - "Heavy-weight History," combining sport, art and history in an original way. The athletes that were invited to Jankowski’s project - Polish
weightlifters - undertook a great endeavor by using the strength of their muscles to momentarily lift selected monuments in Warsaw and thus facing History. "Heavy weight history" was also presented by Kunsthalle Bonn and Center for Contemporary Art, Tel Aviv.
