Este libro documenta la producción de la instalación monumental de Pablo Vargas Lugo, Visión Antiderrapante es una reproducción de una inmensa ciudad de más de 16,000 pirámides de tamaños diferentes que reprodujo en los dos lugares. Al ser demasiado voluminosas para entrar en un almacén, esas numerosas estructuras tuvieron que ser destruidas, convirtiendo Visión Antiderrapante, la publicación, es el único registro completo de su existencia. La producción corre a cargo de Michael Blancsubé (escritor y archivista de la Colección Jumex). El libro contiene también una entrevista con el artista por Sina Najafi, crítico y editor de Nueva York.
Pablo Vargas Lugo is one of Mexico's fastest-rising contemporary artists, with an extensive resume of solo and group exhibitions there and abroad. This book, an artist's project highlighting a single installation--done for the ColecciÄn Jumex and then reinstalled at the San Paolo Biennale--documents the sprawling city of over 16,000 pyramids of varying sizes that he reproduced at both sites. Because they are too large to maintain in storage, this fleet of structures will have to be destroyed, at which point Skidproof View will be the only full record of their existence. Its design is inspired by a 1953 Mexican book on planets and stars.
